In Galápagos we never dock, we reach land by Dingy, also called PANGA b,y us Locals.
As far as I know, nobody knows why we use this word, but anyway, we never dock, we have nor such facilities.
As one of the primary policies of the National Park is not to change the Landscape, therefore the facilities for landing are very basic or none.
So well, the Panga Drivers, a Crew Member, together with the Guide are encharged of bringing you on Land "SAVE" so please listen to them.
When going Ashore if a DRY LANDING is going to be, as it says dry , we hope it is.
Sometimes perhaps slightly wettish, anyway.....the Panga will be located at a Rock or some kind of Peer, so that you will get off it with no problem, unless the seas are rough that day...
Always listen to the Guide.
If a WET LANDING, it means the Panga will be "kind of stranded" so that you just have to disembark of the Stern from both sides, NOT FROM BEHIND, then you will be to close to the Motor and Propeller which is dangerous, you can be cut by it ( unless you have short Legs and Seas are calm.)
